READY YOUR TISSUE BOX. IT IS GOING TO BE A CRYING FEST! I think this was like The Fault in Our Stars for many others. Maybe if I felt that book, I would cry like this.

Juri’s life is dark, lonely and painful. With a mother who wishes Juri was never born, while things can’t get any better, right?

Juri has attempted to commit suicide 3 times. And every day was a burden. #3987, Yuu, has a lot of similarities as Juri. Both painted with a past, a darkness, a death.

Yuu’s life, gosh. I can’t even describe how cruel and twisted. But truthfully, things like this happen in real life and it pains the crap out of me. Sentences such as “Sorry bro…” utterly crushes me. The back story to Yuu’s life, oh, I don’t…I can’t.

Aunt Monica is the sweetest, wisest, little woman. Gosh I just want to hug her. She is lonely but kind. Some of the things she does just make me tear up. Sahara Mizu did a great job drawing her. Her postures, movements made me want to cry. Aunt Monica has more depth as you read on. She has her past and her unfortunate events.

The warden is also so kind. I always have this image of evil wardens and I think that is true in most part but the warden in this manga is just so cute and kind. Awwww~

This manga was dark, and hollow. It seemed to suck your soul out. I wanted to cry so bad. (Thank you Lynn for warning me before hand. I have a box of tissues at the ready. But Lynn, I want to yell at you because WHY DID YOU INTRODUCE ME TO THIS PAIN?!!! ;______________;). But this manga was not all pain and sadness, there were beauty, elegance, and magic. The pages flew by with each passing one, more intricate delicacy seemed to fly off the page. The arts was beautiful, lyrical, and thoughtful.

This manga was powerful, dark, light, and just purely beautiful. This manga is about life, living, and enjoying. I highly recommend this manga! If you are going through a hard time, please, I beg of you, read this!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEASEE read the quotes I have written down. My words above can’t describe how amazing this manga is…….soooo please read some of the quotes from the manga and see for yourself? 🙂

Random thought: Yuu looks like Haru from Tonari :3 Cute!

Quotes: These are only SOME of the quotes within the manga. There were way too many great quotes within the manga.

“I was always looking for a place where the bad days didn’t keep running by…” ~ Yuu

“To me, the hours that pass by each day are just an agony that I want to throw in the trash.” ~ Juri Mutou

“Yeah, you were the only reason I didn’t pick better ways to kill myself, Aunt Monica. It’s the thought that there actually is somebody who’d miss me and grieve for me that makes my heart ache.” ~ Juri

“If you pardon the things that unfortunate people do, then what of the people killed by his selfish acts? And the people who say he should be the one killed?” ~ Juri

“You said that the hours of every day are trash. However, that is the way someone lucky enough to welcome the next day thinks.” ~ Aunt Monica

“Grudges don’t simply disappear. And I know that no matter what people tell you to comfort you, it just sounds like sarcasm.” ~ Aunt Monica

“Is a rope around the neck and a drop from the gallows all that we can do for a guy who lived his life without ever smiling? ~ Inoue

“We were only granted 30 minutes every Thursday. Today may be the last day…and so we continued to talk, even about trivial little things, and even if our throats became sore…”

“In that moment…I was happy.” ~ Yuu

“If only the entire week was Thursdays…” ~ Yuu

Haru visits Canada to spend the summer holidays in the woodland house of his strict, strong-willed mother, Haruko. There, she burdens him with the responsibility of caring for his younger adoptive brother – a wild and unruly little boy named Ren who trusts no-one and prefers to wander in the woods with Haruko's dogs rather than associate other people. Haruko orders Haru to 'civilize' Ren.
As the young man strives to teach Ren how to live in human society, their relationship gradually improves – so much so that Haru plans on taking his 'little brother' to Japan with him once he finds a job.

Unfortunately, fate has a cruel habit of interfering with one's plans…
18+ MATURE MANGA!  :O

I am soooo glad I found this meme! OMG ALISON I LOVE YOUUUU~ Okay so for my first Manga Monday I am doing an yaoi*…and it is kind of dedicated to Gianne (ily guurrlliiee), who totally got me into reading yaoi. We were just talking about this manga on twitter and totally going cray cray so yeah…my review. PS: It might just include tons of fangirling jibberish instead of coherend words.

*Yaoi, also known as Boys' Love, is a Japanese popular term for female-oriented fictional media that focus on homoerotic or homoromantic male androphilic sexual relationships, usually created by female authors.

OMG HARU WHY YOU SO HAWWTT??! ❤
OMG REN WHY YOU SO CUTE TOOO?!
AKI! SHIMA! YOU GUYS TOOO?!! #dead

The plot kind of sounds typical and cheesy but for now it is not yaoi yet. It just seems like a kind brother to brother relationship. I mean most yaoi are short and it kind of get straight to the point with the steamy actions but this is completely different. If you don’t know better you might think this is just a “normal” manga. I mean it is kind of sneaky of the mangaka to build such a world and put this much effort. It kind of tortures the readers (like me) with background info instead of the stuff. While reading this I was having so much of “Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan” feels (PS: read it Watashitachi, omg THEE FEEELLLLSS. Omg I might do Watashitachi for Manga Mondays 2 omg). Right, back to Super Lovers. I mean this manga is just so much more! It has depth and it is not just some cheap, steamy yaoi. Like seriously, is this even consider a yaoi? Because I personally don’t think so, it is more shounen ai. It is beyond sweet and it has just so much character, and substance. It is a huge gamble. What if I stop reading because I get bored? I mean I am reading this for the yaoi-ness. But for now I will keep reading this because it is good, and it has quality.

Look at this cuteness!!

AND GOSH! THE ENDING TO CHAPTER ONE?!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!! THAT, MY FRIEND, IS HOW YOU START A BOOK! Just from that one chapter I knew Miyiki Abe will be one of my favourite authors.

Gosh. Cannot. Simply. Explain. My. Love. You know I will go hunting for more of Abe’s works

Random Bits and Pieces:

  • Heehee this is the manga that introduced me to  “hosts”. I will explained more in the later volumes. 😉
  • Omg Canada! Soooo rare do I find any mentioning of Canada in manga. Omg let me love you Miyuki Abe!

Manga Review: Blue Exorcist, Vol. 1 by Kazue Kato

Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth – the blood of the demon lord Satan runs in Rin’s veins! Rin swears to defeat Satan, but doing that means entering the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist himself. Can Rin fight demons and keep his infernal bloodline a secret? It won't be easy, especially when drawing his father’s sword releases the demonic power within him!

 Review

Can I give this a 100000 stars out of 5? I haven't read anything that started out THIS good before!

Okay so you might think that the synopsis of this manga sounds sooooo cliche and boring, well it is not (reason why I always go into each manga without reading the description).

Where shall I start? Well Rin is hot. Wow, I am so shallow. Okay, okay, let's get real. He does have a typical bad boy life. He gets into fights all the time and sucks at studying and will always protect the ones around him. Yes he found out he is the son of Satan, and sure this took up about 1/4 of the volume, but trust me it is not boring! Right from the beginning there was an establishment of bonds. You could tell there was this parental love between Father Fujimoto and Rin. And when things went wrong, there was this guilt and regret that struck me in the heart. I don't care if you never regretted anything in your life, you will feel this, and you will sympathize for Rin.

And now on to the next chapter. Well Rin enters the academy. Okay, okay, if you know me, you know that I love academy books! And wow! The academy looks…<3. It totally reminded me of Spirited Away or what my sister said, The Hobbit. I don't want to say much from now on because it was REALLLY good and REALLLY surprising that I don't want to give anything away. But I like to say that the magic within the story was super cool! And you will see "struggles" between people and you will see love. It is sweet and exciting to read. Oh, there were action scenes in it that I totally want to watch the anime for. 🙂

And in the last chapter of this volume, we get to see some cool interaction between characters and more development in Rin. We also get to meet a new character, Shiemi. She was adorable and caring. It was nice to see more caring and character development but also awesome fighting.

Overall I am addicted to the manga. I am sorry if this is a crappy review. It is just so hard to put into words the awesome feeling you feel when you read this.

Manga Review: Black Butler, Vol. 2 by Yana Toboso

Black Butler, Vol. 2 by Yana Toboso

As high society's social calendar opens up and the Season draws to a close, London is gripped by fear. Someone has taken to stalking women of the night and painting the town red…in their blood. The name on everyone's lips seems to be "Jack the Ripper" – and as a result, the name on Queen Victoria's lips is Phantomhive. Summoned to London to clean up the mess created by this madman, Ciel Phantomhive arrives with Sebastian, his extraordinary butler, at his side to pour him tea, polish his silver, and…investigate a serial killer. And with the aid (and occasional interference) of a few of the Phantomhive house's numerous acquaintances, little stands in the way of the young earl getting to the bottom of this mystery. However, one question remains…can he handle the shattering truth behind it?

Review:

Okay this is my fourth time attempting to write this review. UGH. Why does it tend to disappear on me.

Anyway, I would like to say this volume was a major improvement on the last volume. I mean it is not really fair to compare the two but sorry, I gotta.

Firstly, you know I fancy Jack the Ripper stories. My, oh my, was this one good. 😉

But I like to mention again how unnecessary the "servants screw ups" are. *sigh* I mean I understand by Yana put them in the story but gosh is it every boring? I know Yana wants to demonstrate how talented Sebastian is and increase his every-readers-want-him factor but we all get it. I mean I am not going to lie, I like Sebastian in an apron but it really drags on the story. Okay let's get to the good parts, shall we?

I mean I am not going to lie, I like Sebastian in an apron but it really drags on the story. Okay let’s get to the good parts, shall we?

In this volume we, as the readers, went to quite a lot of places. We went to see The Undertaker and we went to a ball. Quite swell right? The ball was grand, and I mean we get to see Ciel in a gown, and my was he cute. And of course I won’t forget about Sebastian, he…well, shall we say that ladies, you won’t have any ovaries left (or uterus…did you catch my lame joke?). <—I am weird.
We got to see a bit more about Ciel’s past which keeps the mystery alive within the manga. I mean I don’t really care that much about this past but it is always good to be reminded that he does have a past.

I mean the mystery behind Jack the Ripper was good, it wasn’t on the level of Detective Conan but it was surprising to say the least. I enjoyed reading how cunning the young Earl Ciel Phantomhive was; he was, well, delicious. (I am not a pedo ;A;). Anyway, back to the story, where was I? Oh right, surprising. Who “Jack” was, was indeed surprising and thrilling. And wow did this volume end in a cliffhanger, a smexy one at that.

Random bits and pieces:
Love the fashion in this series. Really, gosh, I want all the outfits! I don’t care if some of them are for males, I want them ALL!

The cover for this one looked odd. Really! If you had the physical copy right now, I dare you to stare at the cake tray thingy. It looked suppperrr bad! Horrible editing! It had like ugly harsh lines. It looked like someone found a picture on photostock and just did a shitty photoshop job on it. ;A; I cry for it!

Haha, you can see the yaoi undertone in this volume. I mean I know that the first volume had a bit, but if you missed it in the first one, you won’t miss it here. It was sweet and stimulating. (Oh god, what did I just write?! ^//////o////^ *runs off to hide*)

Manga Review: Black Butler, Volume 01 (Black Butler #1) by Yana Toboso

Just a stone's throw from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom and its master, one Ciel Phantomhive. Earl Phantomhive is a giant in the world of commerce, Queen Victoria's faithful servant…and a slip of a twelve-year-old boy. Fortunately, his loyal butler, Sebastian, is ever at his side, ready to carry out the young master's wishes. And whether Sebastian is called to save a dinner party gone awry or probe the dark secrets of London's underbelly, there apparently is nothing Sebastian cannot do. In fact, one might even say Sebastian is too good to be true…or at least, too good to be human…

 Review
A great start for the series. I mean I heard about Black Butler, Black Butler Black Butler as if some ghost had been haunting me all my life so when my friend Yuki asked me if I wanted to borrow it, I snatched up the chance and said "YES!". (Haha, especially when she mentioned that it was suppose to be a yaoi series… 😉

The bond between Ciel and Sebastian somewhat (just a tiny bit) reminds me of the relationship between Tomoe and Nanami from KamiHaji. It is darker and more gruesome, but overall sweet. I can't wait to read more and see how the relationship pans out. 😉

Ciel, well he was like Artemis Fowl. A boy who was smug, and arrogant but you know he could. He got quite the atmosphere around me. Me gusta. Unlike Artemis, he looked girly at times which I find it the perfect fit…*coughs* for Sebastian *coughs*.<—One of the reason I thought of KamiHaji. 😉

Okay ladies, hold on to your panties!!!!!!!!! I WANT A SEBASTIAN?! Ummm…mama needs a sexy butler that can do anything and everything she want. And OHHHH DAMMNNN! He looks damn fine with his sleeve pulled up and a chic vest. I need a piece of that! I mean seriously, who wouldn’t develop a crush on him? Okay I don’t know what is this “sacrifice” is so I don’t want that even if it is for my Sebby baby. (Wow, I am so bipolar).

For now I feel like the extra characters (aka the other servants) are not needed. Sure they bring humour to the series but it drags things down. I mean I was bored and was tempted to skip the pages about them. UGH!

At some point I was a bit confused with what’s going on (and to tell you the truth, I am still confused) but who cares? There were a lot of things going on and it seemed like a lot of back story needed. But either way, I think it will make sense to me when I read on.
